Bright smile together

          Department of Health, Thailand hosted a national toothbrushing campaign for school children in all 77 provinces across Thailand entitled “Bright Smile Together” on 21 May 2024 at TK palace hotel and convention center. Children brush their teeth together at the same time at their schools and joined other school children online through the Zoom platform. The national campaign was a collaboration of 5 main organizations in responsible of children’s health and education including, the Department of Health, the Office of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Education, the Border Patrol Police Bureau and the Provincial Administrative Organization. The purpose of this campaign was firstly to encourage children to brush their teeth at least 2 times a day after lunch at schools and before bedtime at home and secondly to publicly spread the message of the importance of toothbrushing and the reduction of sugar consumption in children to the general public in order to improve oral health of Thai children. Furthermore, this campaign was about knowledge sharing in terms of oral health literacy and oral health behavior in children. The campaign was broadcast live on the Office of the Basic Education television channel and the Bureau of Dental Health Facebook.
